I am an accredited Gestalt psychotherapist working in private practice in Tweed Heads – Coolangatta, Brisbane and online.
I am passionate about people, the art of mindful relating and the healing power of deep authentic human connection. I am fascinated by how people co-create their relationships with others and the world around them. I believe that change happens through cultivating acceptance of our personal uniqueness, leading to a life with greater creativity, intimacy and purpose.
Throughout my life I have been privileged to meet many skilled teachers, mentors and therapists who have guided me in my life challenges. I feel honoured to be able to offer the same guidance and support to those who are experiencing their own life challenges. I obtain great personal satisfaction in supporting people in the transformation of their relationships with themselves, their partners, families, friend and the world around them.
I offer simple, practical co-developed solutions to personal challenges that may otherwise seem overwhelming. In my experience, most of life’s challenges are borne out of relational conflicts which result in feelings of anxiety, fear, anger, depression and shame. I will teach you skills and give you tools to relate authentically and facilitate deep relational change and resolution.
I have many years of experience working within private practice, as well as the community sector holding various senior roles within large therapeutic settings. I am founding director of Bridging the Barriers, a private therapeutic consultancy specialising in addiction wellness and recovery management.
I hold a Masters in Gestalt Therapy and am currently studying a Diploma of Somatic Psychotherapy. I am a full member of the Australian Counselling Association.
In my previous life I was a classically trained chef, restaurateur and cookery teacher. I enjoy spending time with my beloved partner, adult children and grandchildren. I enjoy cooking, martial arts, movies and long beach walks.
